Rated 1 out of 5 by KevNV from Wi-fi functionality lacks the ability to “work” properly. The app is terrible, I kept thinking it would get better, but it hasn’t. Frequent disconnections/errors bundled with an interface that looks like it was designed before smart phones existed, that lacks a “setting” button anywhere in the app. It’s really bad. On top of that, it completely ignores my scheduling even when it says “Running Scheduled Program”, turning up the heat to my wake-up temp in the middle of the night.

If you don't have a 'C' wire your 'G' wire can be used as the 'C' wire with a slight modification. Cons: Requires the 'C' wire but is expected.

Backlight doesn't stay on. Somewhat lengthy Wi-Fi setup routine. Smaller footprint so patch work and painting may be needed. It would be nice if a micro-USB port were provided to aid in initial setup.

The apps for the Android tablet and Android phone differ. The phone app is much better. It would be nice if the apps included the ability to copy and paste from one day to the next.

It would also be nice if there were a green LED for power, a red LED for heat, and a blue LED for cool. I am otherwise happy with this unit. What I have included are things that I think would be useful.

Basketball Court Dwg. Called tech support and they had me check all my voltages. Implied that it must be my wiring or furnace. Problem is its an old furnace with two wires. You connect them and the furnace fires right up. Informed help desk agent of this and his comment was;'looks like you're buying another one.'

I will now go to the Emerson Sensi like I should have in the first place. Honeywell, all I can say is, boy, how far you have slid. Will not purchase any of your products going forward.

Also really disappointed in how Home Depot pushed the Wink system, BUT now they are getting rid of all of it. Almost nothing left for the system at their stores but bulbs.

The temperature differential between on and off points is not directly adjustable. This thermostat makes you enter information about your furnace, and then it automatically regulates the temperature how it sees fit.

You cannot adjust the differential between on and off points. The setpoint is regulated so tightly that this causes short cycling in your furnace. I'm really surprised one of the most basic, obvious settings is not available.

Also, I noted that the unit does not snap to its back plate very well unless you push it very hard. The bottom doesn't like to grab.

I have same one installed upstairs and that works fine. My router is upstairs, so upstairs thermostat works fine and keep connected to wifi. But downstairs thermostat right below where upstairs thermostat is, doesn't keep connected to wifi. Seems like works only if you connect it to next router. So turned off wifi on downstairs thermostat and using it as normal thermostat.

Rated 5 out of 5 by FLBuyer from Much nicer than expected No more guessing who's turn is it to go adjust the thermostat, you are able to modify it from your phone or ask Alexa to do it for you, the schedule is easy set up from the app or your computer, you get a notification when the thermostat is out of range based on the parameters you set. Compared to what's out there it does the job without the expensive price tag, yes, it is not as cute as the Nest but why would that matter if you don't even have to go look at it? For the installation you do need the C wire, in our case at first we thought our home didn't have it but we later realized that it was curled around the cable and tucked behind the wall all we had to do was connect it to the thermostat and to the unit. Really happy with this purchase.
