Instead locking out gamers of their product completely, Kunos is going a different route as netKar Pro is effectively becoming an unsupported freeware, the multiplayer lobby servers have been announced to be be shut down on December 1, 2015. The final 1.3 version of netKar Pro was released in late 2011, the title even has a feature that has not made it into Assetto Corsa as netKar Pro comes with wet weather functionality, unlike its successor. That’s pretty cool – people should try it, they might even prefer some things to even Assetto Corsa. The wet weather functionality is worth people checking out. That said, how will this work? Surely it just means that people who already bought it have unlimited activations but those who haven’t can’t buy or get the game? You need a code to unlock it in the first place and they won’t have that code so removing activation limit doesn’t change that?

Or have i misunderstood? Or will they release a freeware version with all that removed? It’s amazing that people can still find something to be unhappy about when something is made free. I suppose it’s today’s spoiled society. Support for the software is ending anyway so how nice that they are no longer going to charge you to have a single player experience. It’s more a case of “as we’re ending support for this old product, you, or anyone who hasn’t already got it, can have it for free.” If you wanted support and MP servers then maybe you should have got it a long time ago. I’m assuming you don’t have it already otherwise why complain about it being free.

I bought netkar Pro on a 5 buck sale just to support Kunos/AC development. Then I got Ferrari Academy to see if it is good and to help Kunos/AC development. Then I bought AC on Early Access to help Kunos/AC development. Then I bought DLC Dream Pack for AC, to support AC, and Kunos, and AC development, off course. Kunos still don’t deliver AC as it should be and the hype is over.

Maybe AC should be free instead netKar Pro. LMAO 😀 Anyway, it is a good move.

It makes us to remember old times and have more hope on AC development, but I ain’t buying any DLC for AC anymore until it is proven.
